Flodesk Checkout: Flodesk with Sales Funnels!
If you got here from this article or this article, I’m happy to say that Flodesk has done it again! With the last update, Flodesk gave us email capture landing pages. This is a page that is strictly used to get email addresses, nothing else. However, most people wanted a little more functionality. People aren’t used to pure email marketing software. They are used to marketing automation software that also sends emails. There’s a huge difference but that’s a different article entirely.
With this new update, Flodesk has given you what you asked for: a sales page (or a landing page if that’s what you want to call it).

What is a Sales Landing Page?
The concept is the same as email landing pages, the only difference is that you want people to purchase something from you. Most businesses need a landing page whether they are selling a service or product.
With Flodesk Checkout, you are able to create a sales page just like you would be able to with Convert Kit or ThriveCart. If you already use Flodesk then you aren’t learning a new platform, just building on the foundation of one that you already use.
Why use Flodesk Checkout?
Flodesk Checkout is going to be great for people that do not have a website. It would still be beneficial to own your domain but from what I see right now, that’s not required.

Flodesk Checkout is going to be great for people that need more than just email marketing but also want to build funnels. You can already do that if you know how to code and know how to integrate different marketing systems. But why do all of that when you can just use Flodesk Checkout?
Flodesk Checkout has a feature where you can add an upsell in your process. This is definitely an advanced feature on par with Convert Kit or other marketing automation software. And if you don’t want to offer an upsell, then toggle that feature off.

Yes, Flodesk Checkout is a separate service from Flodesk. That means you have the option of buying only Flodesk for email marketing or buying only Flodesk Checkout for marketing automation or bundling them both to create an email sales funnel.

No. As of right now, anything you offer using Flodesk Checkout will have to be paid in full at the time of purchase. It does not handle subscription payments, installments or partial payments.

No. While it’s easy to set up the sales page, checkout page, and delivery page you do not have to use the sales page. If you want to go directly to checkout you can link directly to your checkout page.

No. Flodesk Checkout can be thought of as a shopping cart. Think of it like a grocery store. People put their groceries (your product) in the shopping cart then checkout at the register (Flodesk Checkout). The register can charge your card but the processing is done by a different party, like Vis or Mastercard.

Stripe. Flodesk Checkout may open to PayPal later but as of right now, the only payment processor you can connect to your Flodesk Checkout is Stripe.

You could but it’s just not optimized for that- yet. A good work around would be to have in person pick up. Anything dealing with fulfillment of physical orders just isn’t the best right now.
I’ve been a longtime Flodesk fangirl and I have got to say this new feature is legit. I code a lot of my funnels on Squarespace to duplicate features from ThriveCart and ConvertKit, but it looks like I won’t have to do that in the future and I can create cleaner interfaces for clients in the future.
